What is Saju
Saju is an East Asian system that reads a person’s temperament and fortune through the four pillars (year, month, day, hour) of birth, each composed of a heavenly stem and earthly branch.
Four pillars, eight characters
Saju consists of four pillars — year, month, day, hour — each with a heavenly stem on top and an earthly branch below. These eight characters are called the saju palja.
The ten stems and twelve branches pair into the sixty-jiazi cycle that marks time.
Why four pillars — coordinates in time
Myeongni treats birth as a coordinate in cosmic time. The yin-yang and five-element ratios of that coordinate are the innate energy; meeting later cycles produces fortune.
What saju can answer
Saju addresses strategic life questions: where your strengths lie, when they shine, what kind of relationships you’re entering, and which axis to weight in a given period.
